Important: In order to use the wireless connection in the residence halls, you must first register your computer through the wired connection in your room. Once you have registered your computer through the wired connection, you must access your GUS menu and enter the MAC address of your wireless card. The instructions for obtaining your MAC address can be found here. ResNet will not allow connections from Windows 95, Windows
98, or Windows ME computers. Those students running these operating
systems MUST upgrade to either Windows 2000, XP or Vista to join
ResNet. ResNet (Residential Network) is a joint project between University Housing and the Office of Information Systems to provide network services to students living in residence halls on the PSU campus. ResNet connections provide quick access to campus systems like: GUS, GorillaMail, Blackboard, library resources (including card catalogs and search engines) and a host of other educational services. Any questions/comments/support inquiries should be
directed to
the University Housing Office or a Network Technician (x.4065). OIS is
not responsible for support of ResNet. |
