Setup Your Network Connection.
  1. Select "Settings" from the "Start" menu.
  2. Select "Control Panels."
  3. Next, select the "Internet Options" control panel.
  4. Select the "Never Dial A Connection" radio button.
  5. Press the "Setup" button in the upper-right of the window.
  6. Check the radio button that says "I Want to Setup my Connection Manually or I Want to Connect through a Local Area Network (LAN)"
  7. Select the "I connect through a local area network (LAN)."
  8. Be sure that nothing is selected in the Proxy Settings box and press "Next."
